Pond accents include a Japanese stone lantern set on a flat granite boulder in the middle of the stream and a 24" bronze spitting frog. There are two underwater lights along with other landscape lighting around the pond which allows the pond to be enjoyed at night..
The pond was built in September 1999. It is drained, cleaned and refilled each spring. The water is always crystal clear with the only problem being string algae throughout the summer. The pond is located in half shade and half sun. I use a small fountain pump to keep a small opening in the ice throughout the winter.
